The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Board of Trustees established the Harriet and Ronald Lassin Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neonatology. COR Deputy Director Dr. Scott A. Lorch is the first faculty member to hold this newly endowed chair.

AcademyHealth Best Abstract, 2012

Dr. Scott A. Lorch and colleagues received a Best Abstracts honor from AcademyHealth for a project entitled, “The Impact of Excluding Racial/Ethnic Status from Risk Adjustment Models of Neonatal Intensive Care Performance.”

"The impact of certificate of need programs on neonatal intensive care units," a study published in the January, 2012 issue of the Journal of Perinatology by Dr. Scott A. Lorch and colleagues P. Maheshwari and Orit Even-Shoshan, was recognized as one of the top ten publications in neonatology in the e-Journal of Neonatology Research’s Summer, 2011 issue.

The prestigious award was presented to Dr. Jeffrey H. Silber on June 13, 2011 at AcademyHealth's Annual Research Meeting for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute-funded study "Aggressive Treatment Style and Surgical Outcomes," published in the December, 2010 issue of the journal Health Services Research.
